The Beginner's Class is held over 3 days
 and includes instruction on both Relief and Reverse Relief techniques.
The basic principles you will learn in this class will prepare you to progress
 to any type of carving or sculpting you may wish to try.
 

Beginner's Carving
Relief

Learn the basics required to get you started with
 eggshell carving or brush up on earlier teachings.
This design is suitable for new beginner's or
 add some filigree cut outs for a more advanced design.

Intermediate Relief Carving

Intermediate Emu Carving
by Lorna Winch

During this intermediate class Lorna will show you how to choose a design to take advantage of the colours available in an emu egg. Instruction will include removing the dark layer, texturing techniques using the dark layer, the grey dusty layer and texture effects, achieving sculpting techniques for depth on the teal layer and also making the white layer clean and knowing when to stop.

Advanced Carving
Relief & Filigree Cutouts

Using pattern pieces supplied, create your own
unique filigree cut design on an ostrich egg.
Combine relief carving with lattice & various
texture panels. The choice is yours!
