Reverse Relief

This technique is the opposite to the normal relief carving seen on most carved eggs.
The real magic of the carving is only seen when viewed with a light inside the shell.
While any subject can be used for this technique a portrait,
whether human or animal, seems to really come alive using this method.

The DVD has everything you need to get started with the fascinating technique of reverse relief carving.
It  includes marking the shell, carving the eyes and other facial features
plus a simple way to create a basic carving light.
There is no need to be an artist to be able to transfer the pattern onto the shell - we show you how.
